Many many years ago, in a retired church on upper Pioneer Street in the Village, a tiny, tony shop called, appropriately, The Church Mouse Boutique was opened and began to thrive, selling a potpourri of snazzy, chic, sporty and casual clothes and accessories to the threads-thirsty inhabitants of Cooperstown. The Church Mouse was so named because its illustrious owner, Judy Smith, had always and forever been called Mouse; and, of course, the shop was in that old church. Some years later, Mouse's daughter, Cory, opened a similar establishment just down the street from the Church Mouse, in the Old Firehouse, and called it Lake Classic Designs. In this shop, along with the even more sporty and casual, unique and chic clothes that were offered to the ladies of the Village, came some pretty distinguished household goods as well. Eventually, Lake Classic Designs got too big for all of its britches, and the whole thing got moved up the Lake to Sam Smith's Boatyard. Along the way its name got changed to Lake Classic Outfitters, and its stock grew to include entertainment and gift accessories, stationery, frames, jewelry, photographs and paintings, kids clothes, men's clothes, and some soon-to-be-famous sweatshirts and tees with a variety of seasonal and innovative Boatyard logos.

So right here at Sam Smith's Boatyard, amidst all the Boat Rentals, the bait, the Marine Supplies, and The Blue Mingo Grill, and of course right smack by the Lake, sits Lake Classic Outfitters. Try it. You will not be disappointed.
